Shawna Smigelski

Registered Psychotherapist, Qualifying

Shawna believes that therapy should help you create a life that feels more balanced, connected, and aligned with what matters most to you. She provides a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore life’s challenges openly while building the insight and practical skills needed for lasting change. Shawna works with teens, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, perfectionism, life transitions, family conflict, relationship concerns, career and workplace challenges, mood disorders, and feelings of being stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected.
Shawna takes an integrative and collaborative approach to psychotherapy, recognizing that every person’s experiences, strengths, and goals are unique. She draws primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), humanistic therapy, and relational-cultural therapy while helping clients better understand their nervous system responses, strengthen emotional regulation, and explore how their relationships, family experiences, personal values, and environment have shaped the way they think, feel, and relate to others.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, Shawna spent many years working in engineering and leadership, where she partnered with individuals, teams, and organizations to solve complex problems and navigate periods of growth and change. That experience gave her a firsthand understanding of the pressures people carry, the impact of chronic stress and burnout, and the ways our work, relationships, and responsibilities shape our well-being. Today, she brings that perspective into therapy to help clients navigate life’s challenges.
Shawna believes meaningful change begins with feeling understood. She works collaboratively with clients to deepen self-awareness, strengthen relationships, build resilience, and develop practical, values-based strategies that foster lasting emotional well-being and a more fulfilling life.
