Virtual Therapy In Ontario, In Person Therapy in Hamilton, Oakville & London

Madison Hobson

Madison brings a strong foundation in neuroscience to her clinical work. Her approach is informed by an understanding of how the nervous system processes threat, fear, and avoidance, and she applies this knowledge directly to help clients interrupt the cycles that keep anxiety, panic, compulsive behaviors and relational triggers in place. She works with teens, adults, and couples navigating anxiety, OCD, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, family conflict, divorce, and the demands of balancing work and personal life.

Madison treats individuals experiencing anxiety, OCD, phobias, panic disorder, depression, ADHD, trauma, disordered eating, domestic abuse, self-esteem concerns, and relationship challenges. She also works with couples navigating conflict, communication difficulties, premarital counselling, and rebuilding trust after infidelity. Her clinical focus is on identifying the specific cognitive and physiological patterns that maintain a client’s symptoms, and applying targeted, evidence-based interventions to shift them.

Madison’s approach integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment-based therapy, somatic approaches, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and narrative therapy.

Drawing on her neuroscience background, she emphasizes how the nervous system regulates under chronic stress, anxiety, or trauma, and works directly with clients to build the physiological and cognitive skills needed to shift out of fight-or-flight patterns. Whether the work involves exposure-based treatment for OCD or phobias, structured anxiety and panic management, or couples-focused communication work, Madison’s approach is evidence-based and grounded in the mechanisms driving each client’s specific symptoms.
