Melora Andrews

Registered Psychotherapist, Qualifying

Melora brings a strong foundation in neuroscience to her clinical work. Her approach is informed by an understanding of how the brain and nervous system process threat, fear, and emotional experiences, and she applies this knowledge to help clients interrupt the cycles that keep anxiety, panic, compulsive behaviours, and avoidance in place. She works with teens and adults navigating anxiety, panic, OCD, phobias, depression, grief, loss, trauma, burnout, perfectionism, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions.

Melora’s clinical focus is on identifying specific cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and physiological patterns that maintain a client’s symptoms and she applies targeted, evidence-based interventions to help her clients shift them. Her approach integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic therapy, attachment-based approaches, and Polyvagal Theory informed approaches.

Drawing on her neuroscience backgrounding and specialized training in nervous system regulation, Melora emphasizes how the brain and nervous system respond under chronic stress, anxiety, panic, grief, or trauma. She helps clients understand how these responses can shape their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours while also helping them to feel more regulated and better equipped to manage their experiences. Whether the work involves exposure-based treatment for OCD or phobias, structured anxiety and panic management, Melora’s approach is evidence-based and grounded in understanding the patterns driving each client’s specific concerns.
