Jennifer Paquette
Psychotherapist, RSSW
Jennifer is a warm, intuitive, and holistic therapist who specializes in working with children, teens, adults, and families navigating anxiety, ADHD, autism, behavioural challenges, learning disabilities, and school-related concerns. As a professor in Early Childhood and Disability Studies, she brings expertise in child development, neurodivergence, and developmental differences to her therapeutic work. This background gives her a unique ability to understand the challenges children and families face at home, in the classroom, and during key stages of growth. Many parents come to Jennifer feeling overwhelmed while trying to support a child who feels anxious, frustrated, or misunderstood. She helps children feel safe, supported, and better able to express and regulate their emotions through play-based therapy and developmentally informed approaches tailored to each child’s age and needs.
Jennifer’s clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy, attachment-based principles, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), play therapy, trauma-informed approaches, mindfulness, and somatic awareness. With children, she uses creative and experiential methods to strengthen emotional regulation, coping skills, and confidence. With teens and adults, she incorporates evidence-based and mind-body strategies to address trauma, addiction recovery, codependency, depression, stress, burnout, caregiver fatigue, body image, self-esteem, substance use, and relationship challenges. Her work is strength-based, culturally sensitive, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens through connection, safety, and a holistic understanding of each person’s experience.
Jennifer’s goal is to help you and your family feel more connected, confident, and supported. Whether you are seeking help for a child struggling with big emotions or behavioural concerns, a teen navigating peer relationships and identity development, or space to focus on your own healing as an adult or caregiver, she meets you where you are with compassion and care. Together, you will build practical tools, deepen self-awareness, and create meaningful changes that support lasting growth for both individuals and families.
