Emma Hirsch

Registered Psychotherapist, Qualifying

Emma believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change. She works with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, panic, phobias, and intrusive thoughts, including the cycles of overthinking, avoidance, reassurance seeking, and compulsive behaviours that keep the anxiety going. She understands how confusing and overwhelming anxiety, OCD, or intrusive thoughts can feel at any age, but especially for a child who struggles to express what they’re experiencing. She creates a warm, age-appropriate space where kids and teens feel safe to be themselves, while also working with adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, OCD, panic, self-esteem struggles, perfectionism, body image concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, life transitions, relationship challenges, and family conflict.

Emma understands that your story is unique, and works collaboratively to help you understand the thoughts, behaviours, and patterns that may be keeping anxiety, OCD, panic, or other concerns in place. Whether you’re struggling with intrusive thoughts, compulsions, avoidance, persistent worry, or feeling on edge, her goal is to help you manage symptoms, strengthen communication, deepen your relationships, develop coping skills, and build confidence in navigating life’s challenges while creating meaningful, lasting change.

Emma’s approach draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) ,Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT) and mindfulness-based interventions, tailored to fit your age, your goals, and whether you’re working through something individually, as a couple, or as a family. Whatever brings you in, Emma works alongside you to build stronger coping skills, better communication, and steady movement toward the life you’re trying to build
