We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and special education. This role involves providing psychological assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering patient care. The Psychologist will also engage in data collection and research to enhance therapeutic practices and contribute to the overall well-being of our patients.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist to join our dynamic mental health team at Vital Minds Psychotherapy. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting comprehensive psychoeducational and psychological assessments for individuals aged 7 and up.
  • Demonstrated skills to provide evidence-based clinical management, assessment and therapy services
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Provide in-person services.
  • Support 10-20 clients weekly with psychotherapy services/assessments.
  • Stay informed about current research and developments in psychology, particularly related to children and special education.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited institution
  • A  current license as a Registered Psychologist in Ontario with the  College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO). REQUIRED
  • Autonomous practice (without supervision). REQUIRED
  • Training in evidence-based interventions and a strong interest in psychotherapy integration
  • Excellent case conceptualization skills
  • Proficiency in  psychological and psychoeducational assessments, including  autism, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, ADHD, and child/adolescent mental health.
  • Strong  written and verbal communication skills, with  excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated  clinical experience, commitment to  ethical best practices, and a dedication to  ongoing professional development.
  • Flexibility: Ability to be  flexible and responsive in delivering services.

The following qualities would be considered assets

  • Knowledge of cultural diversity, with proficiency in other languages considered an asset.
  • Able to provide clinical supervision to a team of psychotherapists is an asset.
  • Experience in couples and family therapy will be highly regarded.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual psychotherapy sessions with adolescents and adults, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, and relationship problems.
  • Perform psychoeducational assessments to evaluate learning disabilities, ADHD, and other cognitive or developmental issues in children, adolescents and adults.
  • Administer and interpret psychological assessments to help diagnose mental health conditions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and current psychological research.
  • Provide therapy to couples and families, assisting them in improving communication, resolving conflicts, and understanding relational dynamics (asset).
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Conduct an initial intake with the proposed client, as needed, and assist with client scheduling

Pay: $130.00-$160.00 per hour
