Laura Bruno
Student Intern, MACP Candidate Registered Psychotherapist, Qualifying
Laura is dedicated to helping adolescents, adults, and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion and understanding. With experience in psychometry and nearly two decades of experience in education, she has a strong grasp of the ways learning, development, and mental health intersect. Her years in education have provided valuable knowledge into how social, academic, and emotional factors shape wellbeing, particularly for those who identify as neurodivergent. This foundation, combined with advanced training in counselling psychology, inspired Laura to transition from the classroom to the therapy room, where she supports clients in developing self-understanding, resilience, and a greater sense of wellbeing.
Laura offers a client-centred approach that invites curiosity and reflection, supporting clients in recognizing patterns and coping strategies that were once adaptive but may now feel limiting or exhausting. Her approach is integrative and strength-based, drawing from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Each session is designed to respond to your evolving needs and therapeutic goals, creating a process that is both intentional and adaptable. Laura is passionate about supporting individuals who experience anxiety, social masking, emotional burnout, sensory overload, or the exhaustion that comes with people-pleasing, perfectionism, and feeling misunderstood. She also works with clients navigating infertility, reproductive trauma, and the desire for a more mindful and intentional relationship with technology.
Therapy with Laura is calm, grounding, and collaborative. She believes that you are the expert in your own experiences, and that healing begins in a space where you slow down, reflect, and feel truly seen. Her goal is to help you move from self-judgment toward self-understanding, developing practical tools for emotional regulation, balance, and everyday functioning.
