Amanda Lazenis
Student Intern, MACP Candidate Registered Psychotherapist, Qualifying
Amanda is dedicated to supporting individuals and couples navigate challenges such as anxiety, stress, relationships, communication, trauma, women’s issues, and major life transitions. For individuals, Amanda provides specialized care for managing intrusive or anxious thoughts, improving emotional regulation, and strengthening the sense of self. In couples therapy, Amanda helps partners identify their emotional needs, repair disconnection, rebuild trust, and create deeper, more secure relationships. Her gentle, curious style encourages honest conversations and helps clients feel safe to explore their inner world and their relationships.
Amanda takes a client-centred and trauma-informed approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Strengths-Based Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She helps clients identify the patterns that may be keeping them stuck, challenge unhelpful thinking, and build healthier emotional and relational habits. With a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity and inclusive care, Amanda brings experience supporting clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and understands the impact that identity, family roles, and cultural expectations can have on mental health.
Amanda’s approach centres on helping clients reconnect with themselves, build emotional awareness, and create meaningful change in their lives. Through a combination of reflection, skill-building, and practical strategies, Amanda helps you gain clarity and develop tools you can use beyond the session. She believes therapy should be both insightful and actionable, so she works to empower you to move through life with greater calm, confidence, and resilience.
